Skincare Holy Grails
As I was thinking what to make my first blog post about, I thought I would start with my favorite part of my routine, skincare. First, let's talk about my skin. Dry, sensitive, acne prone, it is sometimes impossible to find good products that satisfy all my needs. After years of trial and error I have finally found an amazing routine that really helps my skin be the best that it can be.
First lets start off with taking off our makeup...
Spectrum Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is scary to put on your face, especially if you are acne prone. But this is by far the best makeup remover I have ever used. It's all natural and with no harsh chemicals which makes the part of me that's environmentally conscience super happy. Coconut Oil leaves your skin so soft after removing your makeup and cleansing, it has done wonders for my skin. Just take a little bit in the palms of your hands, warm it up, then apply to the skin and it will take off almost all makeup. It does get a little bit hard to take off the waterproof mascara though.

Now for something that will take off that waterproof eye makeup, comes the Make-up Forever Sens'Eyes. Safe for contact wearers, this makeup remover takes off the most stubborn of all makeup including glitter, waterproof eyeliner, and waterproof mascara. I find it to be a staple in every makeup lovers bag to help with those stubborn products.
Ponds Cleansing Wipes

For those days when you're short on time, these cleansing wipes will do the trick. I've tried many expensive and inexpensive cleansing wipes and these are by far the least harsh. Most makeup wipes leave my skin dry, gasping for moisture, and red and rashy. These are the least abrasive and an inexpensive amazing wipe at $4.69 at Target.
Moving on to Cleansing...
Clarin's Gentle Foaming Cleanser in Sensitive/Dry Skin

Your routine is nothing if you don't have a good cleanser. If you have dry or sensitive skin, this will be your new life saver. They also have an oily/combination version if you need something a little less moisturizing. The most gentle cleanser I have ever tried and one of the only ones that doesn't break me out or leave my skin red after I cleanse.
Finally Moisturizing...
Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

A gel moisturizer for dry skin, this stuff is amazing. Heavy enough to get the job done, but light enough to not feel like you're wearing a mask all day, this Clinique moisturizer is a sensitive/dry skin savior. I've also found it doesn't break me out which is a big plus. I use it morning and night as my moisturizer, but it can also be used as a hydrating mask. A bit more pricey, but definitely worth it as it keeps my skin looking hydrated and happy.
The Body Shop Aloe Vera Eye Defense

Looking for a lightweight eye cream that will help slow the wrinkle process? This one is perfect. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in their teens or twenties. It's too lightweight and gentle of a product for anyone with real aging concerns, but for someone looking for a bit of preventative care this is perfect. I use this morning and night for a bit of a pick me up under the eyes as well as trying to slow down the wrinkles.
Simple but Easy
Although my routine seems to have limited products, I find that with sensitive skin, I can't use that many. Most of these products I have been using for years, and can say they have made major improvements in my skin. Please use this only as a recommendation, as everyone's skin varies and has the right combination of products for them.
xoxo,
Monica Marie
