Things I'm Loving This Summer

by - Thursday, June 16, 2016

This week, I was at a bit of a loss of what I wanted to post about. I have been working as a swim coach, while practicing as a swimmer, leaving me with little to no time to experiment with makeup and fashion. Hoping in the pool at 8 am and sometimes having to go back in at 5 pm, workout shorts, sunscreen, and a wet towel have been my daily makeup and go to outfit.
This summer, I have been having a ton of fun crafting and just having some me-time.  Here is a list of my most loved things for the beginning of summer.

1. Rearranging My Room

Since coming home from college, I have decided to do a major upgrade on the arrangement of my room. Although it is still not done, and I know I have a ton of work to do, here is a sneak peek before I post a room tour! I moved my bed from the side of the room to the middle, and I think it looks a lot more grown up.
I love how warm and inviting my bed looks with a tie blanket I made at the bottom and picture pillows! I also still am having a hard time parting with my stuffed animals, so I have them right by my bedside!

2. Crafting

Either for myself or for my future little in my sorority, I have been doing a TON of crafting. Just last night, I made tie blankets with some of my friends. I'm in the middle of making flowered wooden letters (I can post a photo once done if you'd like a sneak peek of what my little will be getting!) and a dress for my sorority recruitment. I also just finished a sort of art piece for my room. It is a wooden frame with wires going through so I can hang pictures by clothes pins. There's a picture down below! I got it on clearance at TJ Maxx and it was white with a quote but super scuffed up. I sanded it and spray painted it gold and I am extremely happy with the results. I am currently toying with the idea of putting my monogram, my sorority letters, or a quote across the top.
This is the frame I spray painted! I am so excited to use my polaroid zip printer to print out some pictures and hang them from the clothespins! I love how this turned out.

3. Organization

This summer for me has been the season of organizing. Along with rearranging my furniture, I have been just getting my life together. As you can tell by my last blog post, I got my finances in order by creating a budget and I have been going through my room and completely decluttering. I also have been enjoying using both my iCal and Erin Condren as my work schedule is a bit unpredictable since I coach different age groups and practices almost every day. Currently, I am working on getting a system 100% down so when it comes to school and I get busier, I will be able to keep my life on track and organized.

4. Makeup and Getting Ready

As I described above, with being a swim coach and swimmer, most days of the week I wear sunscreen instead of foundation. This has really made me appreciate the days where I do have time to fully get ready. I have found that I am experimenting with the makeup I do have more and it is really making me more creative. I am thoroughly enjoying the time it takes to get ready whenever I have to go somewhere. Wearing no makeup most days has made getting ready so much fun!

I hope you are all having a fun and fabulous summer!
