Everyday Neutral Eye

Knowing how to do a good basic neutral eye is a staple in any makeup lover's toolbox. A little sparkle, a lot of brown, and you have the basics down. For this look I used a mixture of high end and low end products to get a beautiful result. Since I have blue eyes, I tend to lean towards more warm colors, which I feel bring out my natural color. This is a look I have done on multiple occasions and one of my go to product combinations. I love the bright inner corner highlight, the fact that I only use about 5 shadows, and how easy it is to do.  The first thing I do is apply Naked 2 from the naked basics palette to my crease as a transition color. I always start off by the transition first. I use a fluffy crease brush and windshield wiper motions to place it in my crease. Next I move to my lid, where I apply MAC's All That Glitters all over by taking a flat shader brush and patting it on the lid.
I move on to lightening up the inner 1/3 of my eye using the highlight color in the wet and wild walking on eggshells trio. Placing this on the inner corner and brow-bone as well as the inner lid really brighten ups eyes and makes them look bigger. For the outer corner, I mix together Faint from the naked basics and the crease color from the wet and wild one. Finally to finish off the eye look, I applied a brownish black liner which I featured in my college makeup post and my newest favorite everyday mascara which I talked about in my last post.

I have been loving this look for any day where I want a quick eyeshadow that I know will look good. I think this combination of colors is especially good for blue eyes, but will also flatter a wide range of eye colors. Another way you could do this look is just using the wet and wild walking on egg shells palette and using it for the lid, crease, and brow-bone. The differences would the lid would be a more pink shimmer than coppery gold and the crease color would not be as intense. I also find using this trio on it's own takes a bit of more blending than mixing them with other shadows takes.
